Welcome

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Black Hills Powwow Association, I invite you to come and enjoy the 33rd Annual Black Hills Powwow slated for October 11-13, 2019, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The theme for the past few years for the Black Hills Powwow has been “Come Dance With Us.” We want everyone to feel welcome and to enjoy the beauty of Great Plains indigenous song and dance. Also we will be having our first, “World Championships of the Black Hills” singing contest paying out $30,000 in prizes.  This year our total prize payout will be over $100,000! We want to give a special thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers who help us to make this beautiful event possible.

The Black Hills Powwow has become one of the premier American Indian cultural events in the United States, attracting thousands of dancers, singers, artisans and several thousand spectators from across several U.S. states, Canadian provinces and beyond. In addition to the powwow, spectators have the opportunity to enjoy a fine arts show, He Sapa Win pageant, wellness symposium for youth, and tournaments for hand games, golf, and archery. You are welcome to explore our website to see what may interest you. Also, thank you in advance for attending the 2019 Black Hills Powwow!
